The infrastructure system lab works on cutting edge infrastructure system innovations, including but not limited to compute, storage, database, networking, etc. We look for exceptional both new graduates and experienced professionals to join our team, which is composed of talents from many top companies.

Technical Assessment
Candidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in Bytedance's technical online assessment in HackerRank.

Responsibilities:

• Build new features that touch hundreds of millions of people around the world
• Solve unique, large-scale, highly complex technical problems
• Partner with PMs, designers, engineers from different teams on building backend support for mobile application
• Participate in technical discussions related to team's product and engineering work
• PhD degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent practical experience
• Final year or recent graduate with a background in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Experience in building large-scale software and systems using open-sourced frameworks and be proficient in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, etc.
• Good knowledge of general infrastructure systems such as parallel and distributed systems, cloud computing (e.g., Ray), and cloud storage.
• Experience in designing data-processing pipelines, ML or graph processing system
• Experience with generic machine learning algorithms, performance analysis, and computer architecture.
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications
• Curiosity towards new technologies and entrepreneurship
• High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities
