Spectrum Software Technology, Inc. Spectrum Software Technology (SST) is currently seeking a Software Engineer for our civil aviation programs. The position requires a BS in Computer Science or related fields with a minimum of 3+ years of experience, or a MS in Computer Science with 1+ year of experience. Strong Python experience is desired. Some exposure to C/C++ a plus. Experience in a Linux/Unix environment helpful. This position is based out of the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center adjacent to the Atlantic City International Airport, New Jersey. Hybrid-Partially Remote.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate will work as part of SST's civil aviation programs supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) aviation projects. As part of that team, the candidate will design and develop software for analysis of avionics data, GPS/Satellite Navigation data, and data analytics/visualization tools. Candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills, which are necessary for technical reports and presentations, and work well in both group and individual assignments. Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Plan, develop, test, and document highly complex application programs
• Generate new code and correct, convert, and/or modify existing code to meet specifications
• Prepare specifications from which code will be written
• Develops new software (Python), and maintain old software (C/C++)

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields

Strong Python skills

Some knowledge of C/C++ desired

Previous Unix/Linux experience preferred

Experience scripting in BASH or similar a plus

JavaScript a bonus

Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder
