SOFTWARE ENGINEER
NDI Engineering Company is seeking a Software Engineer with Control Systems and Hardware-in-the-Loop experience for U.S. Navy DDG Shipboard and Land-Based Engineering Site (LBES) testing of Control Systems, in particular Fluid Control Systems.
Responsibilities include: Testing software and hardware during configuration management builds and formal cold test evolutions; Troubleshoot hardware and software issues; Write SPIRs for issues discovered during testing; Assisting developers with Software Process Improvement Record (SPIR) fixes; Assist test coordinator and software lead in determining prioritization of issues; Integrate testing/troubleshooting efforts with other systems and hardware components; Assist in design, development, testing and troubleshooting of simulators; Communicate status of issues, resource needs, testing needs and resources to de-conflict resources with other programs. The candidate will interface directly with multi-disciplined engineers, technicians, program managers, and other personnel within the project team.
· 3-10 years of related experience preferred
· BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is desired.
· Knowledge of U.S. Navy ship, hull, mechanical and electrical systems is preferred.
· Research and development (R&D) experience of PLC Control Systems, Fluid Control Systems, Machinery Control Systems, and Auxiliary Systems and solutions, including but not limited to tank level indication, air compression systems, valves and actuator technology, mechanical, electrical and thermal development and regulation of controls and input/output devices is desirable.
· Must be a US citizen with a DoD Security Clearance.
· Position is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
