Software Engineer I

Job Description

The primary focus of this entry level role is to learn the current product and development best practices around software code and design. The expectation from this role is to continually improves one’s coding & design skills, while assisting one’s engineering team & management to build quality software and release in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include

• Learns the current product codebase and continuously improve one’s coding skills
• Independently drives a task to completion, given insights into small features and defects from more senior engineers
• Assists one’s team & development manager in all tasks including but not limited to software design, coding, testing, documentation and deployment
• Actively participates in Scrum/Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews and retrospectives
• Collaborates with other Scrum team members & stakeholders and work as a team member
• Shows initiative and is motivated to learn development best practices and new software & technologies

Basic Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• Basic programming foundation including knowledge of databases and operating systems
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and at least one Object Oriented language like C#, Java

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline
• Exposure to full cycle software design and development
