Amazon Shopping Videos (ASV) is a new strategic program that leverages the potential of video to help millions of customers find product inspiration, learn more about products they are interested in, and interact with great creators and their communities every day across the globe. We enable customers to find relevant content and explore our vast library of product focused videos on our home experiences across desktop, mobile, and throughout their shopping journey on Amazon. We are very much a startup within Amazon aiming to reinvent the way customers use video to shop, and we are looking for motivated, thoughtful self-starters who can partner effectively with our product development teams to drive innovation.
Key job responsibilities
As a builder on the ASV team you would be empowered to shape the way that customers use video to shop on Amazon.com. We use a variety of AWS technologies, languages (Java, Javascript, Python), and skillsets (backend, frontend, machine learning) to showcase the best videos and livestreams that influencers, sellers, brands, manufacturers, customers, and top publishers have to offer. Our full-stack teams build high-scale, low-latency, personalized video experiences, and leverage high-volume real-time analytics to helps us understand what our customers love most. As an SDE, you will be focusing on creating scalable video distribution systems. You will be working within a large organization and interact with senior engineers, applied scientists, UX designers, product managers and partner teams. You will be using a variety of technologies, own features end-to-end, and help us re-invent customer shopping journey with videos on Amazon.

Our team is chartered with creating a compelling shopping experience with Videos on Amazon. We are a full stack team owning front end experiences, and the services that support them. We build the back end services using Java on AWS.
Team has a good mix of tenured and new engineers to bring in experienced and fresh perspective to solve the challenging problems and handle the increasing scale.

- You will closely interact with Product managers who gathers requirements from end customer interactions.
- You will closely interact with UX designer who build the designs for customer journey.
- You will be using a variety of technologies (Web Technologies like Java/HTML/JS/ReactNative).
- You will review code from peers.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong sense of ownership with a high bar for quality
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience developing in AWS-based infrastructure
- Experience with modern web technologies including HTML 5 / CSS 3 / JS.
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $110,500 - $160,000 (hr/yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
