Job description

As a Software Developer you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, modifying, and implementing new or existing software products. Duties will include writing clean, scalable code, creating testing protocols, fixing bugs, and deploying programs. Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues. Design and update software database. This includes, but is not limited to: Software Applications, Web Sites, Data Communication Processes and User Interfaces. To ensure success as a developer, the individual will need to have advanced knowledge of programming languages, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work to a deadline. This is not an entry-level position.

  • Collaborating with management, departments, and teammates to identify end-user requirements and specifications.
  • Meeting with the team to discuss the scope of software projects.
  • Work with the team to design algorithms, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts to create new software programs and systems.
  • Analyzing existing programs for modification purposes.
  • Researching and designing new software systems, websites, programs, and applications.
  • Produce clean, efficient, scalable code based on specifications and requirements.
  • Integrate software components and third-party programs.
  • Verify, test, and deploy programs and systems.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, maintaining, and improving code and existing software.
  • Testing, verifying, deploying, and upgrading software programs, applications, and systems.
  • Gathering, compiling, assessing, and evaluating user feedback to improve software performance.
  • Observing user feedback to recommend improvements to existing software products.
  • Recommending and executing program improvements.
  • Maintaining software code and security systems.
  • Creating technical documentation for reference and reporting and guiding future software development projects.
  • Training teammates on new applications and software products.
  • Perform other related duties necessary to accomplish the objectives of Cove and/or assigned by the IT Director.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree with minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role (required).
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screen prior to start date.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages including JavaScript, HTML5, Java, C++, and PHP.
  • Knowledge of software systems and frameworks including AnglularJS, Git, GitHub, and .NET.
  • Experience with object-Relational Mapping (ORM)
  • Familiarity with Agile development technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of relational database theory
  • Familiarity with data warehousing using SQL
  • Ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually on a project.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

Job Type: Part-time (Nonexempt).

Schedule: • 20-hour week / Monday - Friday.
