LOCATION: Mitchell County Department of Social Services, Bakersville

SALARY RANGE: Social Worker III - Grade 69 / $ 44,093 – $ 66,139
Social Worker II - Grade 67 / $ 40,766 - $ 61,149
Social Worker I / Trainee - Grade 63 / $ 34,847 - $ 55,269

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The person in this position will be responsible for on call services for the children’s and adult services units. Duties may include but are not limited to, responding to protective service reports and other on call intake duties. The worker will also perform foster care and in-home visits as needed.

Work is performed under the direction of the Supervisor, Program Manager, and Director in accordance with State and Federal regulations for the proper administration of the program. Work may include other related duties and activities as deemed appropriate and assigned by the Supervisor, Program Manager, and/or Director.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

SOCIAL WORKER TRAINEE – GRADE 63
4-year college or university degree
SOCIAL WORKER I – GRADE 63
4-year degree in a human services field
4-year college or university degree plus one year of directly related experience
SOCIAL WORKER II – GRADE 67
BSW
4-year degree in a human services field plus one year of directly related experience.
4-year college or university degree plus two years of directly related experience.
SOCIAL WORKER III – GRADE 69
MSW
BSW-Child Welfare Collaborative
BSW plus one year of directly related experience
4-year degree in a human services field plus two years directly related experience
4-year college or university degree plus three years of directly related experience
