The Social Media Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining BDO Digital’s social media presence across various social media platforms. This position supports the development and execution of social media campaigns including planning, content development, employee advocacy, reporting and ongoing optimization.

  • Contributes to marketing strategy by leveraging social media to identify and acquire customers
  • Helps develop social media marketing plans that integrate into targeted campaigns to help drive leads and opportunities as well as to drive awareness around BDOD capabilities and experience
  • Decision making abilities to ensure that any BDO Digital social media activity and posted content are in line with approved marketing strategies, campaigns, brand standards, guidelines, and legal requirements
  • Serves as an internal resource to marketing and BDO Digital’s professionals (BDOD Solution Areas, Recruiting, etc.), for social media programs
  • Monitors BDO Digital’s social media corporate channels to ensure information is accurate
  • Supports organic and paid social media campaigns, including planning, targeting, set-up, testing, execution, reporting and optimization
  • Creates content, in alignment with Content Manager, for social media programs and campaigns that is on brand, shareable and appropriate for the online presence
  • Helps source content including external industry-related content in addition to leveraging existing BDO Digital developed content
  • Supports firm’s employee advocacy program, including content sourcing monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinates social media creative for social media programs and campaigns
  • Monitors relevant social discussions about our firm, competitors and/or industry through social media listening tools
  • Considers needs of different end users (clients, prospects, referrals, media, prospective employees, etc.)
  • Contributes to social analytics reporting
  • Champions BDO Digital brands to ensure online marketing and communications reflect the Firm’s messages, positioning and visual identity
  • Supports and participates in social media training for marketing and BDO Digital professionals (Client Service, BD, Recruiting, etc.)
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree, required; focus in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or Business Administration, preferred

Experience:
  • Three (3) or more years of marketing or communications experience, required
  • One (1) or more years’ experience executing content with social media platforms, including, but not limited to, LinkedIn,
  • Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram, required
  • Experience working within a professional services environment (i.e., accounting, financial consulting, business advisory services and/or banking industries), preferred

Software:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, required
  • Experience with any social media management and/or reporting tools (i.e., Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social), required
  • Experience with Google Analytics, preferred
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of B2B marketing strategies and tactics and their application in a professional services organization
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously and managing process
and service providers (internal and external) to accomplish desired results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as solid presentation skills with specific experience writing for online
media
  • Experience with all phases of social media campaign planning, design and development including best practices
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills, and consultative approach to working with marketing and client service
professionals at all levels
  • Knowledge and experience with online metrics, analytics, and tools
  • Ability to understand and ability to communicate BDO Digital business, marketplace, and value proposition
  • Driven self-starter with a proactive approach to serving professionals at all levels in a client-oriented, matrixed environment
