Job Summary
:
Work collaboratively within the marketing and communications team to provide useful and compelling content that supports Bethel’s brand and recruitment, retention, and fundraising goals.
Responsibilities
:- Develop original content for the web, social media, prin, video, advertising, and other materials in support of Bethel’s brand and marketing strategies.
- Maintain Bethel's social media presence by publishing content, collaborating with student creators, engaging with audiences, and participating in strategic planning.
- Consult with offices and departments to address questions as they arise.
- Monitor content success and research new strategies for content production.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
:- Ability to think creatively and propose new ideas for innovative and engaging content.
- Ability to write compelling headlines and copy that supports the University’s brand.
- Basic understanding of copywriting, news and feature writing, writing for the web, and AP style.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms and their audiences, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Willingness to monitor and engage on social media platforms outside traditional hours, if needed.
- Interest in working with college student content creators.
- Ability to collaborate across offices and departments to discover and respond to clients’ needs.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Must be willing and able to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with content management systems and social media management platforms preferred.
Required Experience
:
1+ years of experience writing, editing, or managing promotional content.
Required Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in communication studies, English, journalism, or related field.
