Job description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs routine (journey-level) systems administration work. Work involves assisting with the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of SOAH information systems. Installs and upgrades computer components and system software. Will act as primary help desk administrator, responding to calls, emails and support requests on a daily basis. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This position works in a hybrid work environment. Employee must be willing and able to physically work in the office on a set schedule each week and provide additional coverage as needed. When working from home, adequate space and infrastructure, to include reliable high-speed internet, must be in place to support business needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs IT troubleshooting support.
- Responds to incident and problem tickets by processing service requests and tasks.
- Assists in determining system software or hardware required to configure or modify systems.
- Prepares and maintains operating procedures for technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and systems administration techniques.
- Supports the installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of servers, operating systems, and applications.
- Assists in completing projects, and in performing systems software and hardware reviews.
- Assists in information systems security administration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Four years’ experience in systems administration, help desk, or system support; or
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in a technology related field may substitute for the experience.
- Graduation from a technical school in a related technology field may substitute for experience.
- Graduation with an Associate's degree in a technology related field may substitute for two of the four years’ experience.
- Major course work in Information Systems, Information Science, or Computer Science.
- Technical certification relevant to this position.
REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION, OR LICENSURE
- Drivers License
- Knowledge of administration and deployment of Microsoft 365, Microsoft Windows 10 and 11.
- Knowledge of teleconferencing solutions such as Zoom.
- Knowledge of SharePoint Online administration and support.
- Skilled in managing help desk tickets and associated workflows.
- Skilled in problem solving and critical thinking.
- Skilled in configuring and deploying computer systems and applications.
- Skilled in using current technology and training others including, but not limited to, use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, SharePoint Online and Adobe DC.
- Ability to identify user needs and perform work related tasks promptly and professionally.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to manage physical inventory and maintain an organized work environment.
- Ability to write technical procedures.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to communicate technical issues effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
- Must be able and willing to work physically in the office during work hours as required.
- Must be able to work physically in the office on weekends and after-hours as required.
- Ability to travel, up to 5% as needed.
