WorkFit Staffing, a division of WorkFit Medical, LLC is seeking an experienced Sleep Tech for an 8-week contract assignment in the Sleep Lab within a hospital located in Ithaca, NY.
36 hours/week on Nights!
Competitive pay rates: $80.00/hour!
Job Summary:
A sleep technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. Technicians and trainees work under the direct supervision of the credentialed sleep technologist or the medical director.
Effectively provides Person Centered care and services
Job Responsibilities include:
- 1. Patient care
- 2. Sleep study preparation and set-up
- 3. Sleep study procedures
- 4. Technologist training
- 5. Resolves patient problems and performs quality checks
- 6. Service management an essential skills
- 7. Meet quality assurance standards which includes monthly ISR
- Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above.
Requirements:
Education – Graduate of associate degree in sleep technology and/or respiratory therapy emphasis in sleep technology.
AND
Current certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential.
Experience – 1-2 years preferred as a registered technologist, but not required
Licensure – Current license in the State of New York
