Located in Minonk, Illinois, SMF (an Etnyre International Company) is a full-service metal manufacturing facility that specializes in heavy and light fabrication for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). We are currently looking for experienced Shot Blast Operators who enjoy their profession and can keep up with our production demands.

Job Title:

Shot-Blast Machine Operator – 2nd shift

Job Duties:

• Removes shell, scale, grinding marks, and other material from castings
• Loads castings into walk-in cabinet manually or with hoist
• Masks tooling points as needed
• Shot blasts parts in cabinet by directing hand-held nozzles; moves nozzle across surface or parts; avoids taking off too much metal by not directing sand or shot at one area too long
• Removes all shot out of part cavities to assure clean parts
• Visually inspects blasted parts to verify removal of materials and color uniformity
• Removes castings from walk-in cabinet and places on pallets
• Modifies shot-blast pipe as necessary
• Performs minor equipment maintenance, including changing hoses and nozzles
• Checks equipment and checks for leaks and clogs
• Restocks cabinet with shot; orders materials as needed

• Strong organizational skills
• Previous manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Prior shot-blast experience (preferred)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to run an overhead crane
• Ability to stand 8-10 hours a day
• Ability to hold large sandblast hose for extended periods of time
• A medical questionnaire is required for employees performing work that requires the use of an air supplied hood
