Job Summary:

The Shipping Product Delivery Manager / Value Stream Manager (VSM) will perform a variety of technical and business tasks in support of the product delivery and Shipping/Traffic functions for both operations and engineering materials. The VSM will coordinate standard production meetings, generation and measurement of logistics performance and status, and maintaining or improving logistics service level commitments.

In this role, you will directly manage a team that consists of a front-line supervisor; (2) leadership support staff; and of (10) bargaining unit employees across 2 shifts. As a recognized leader, you are accountable for results, safety, security, compliance, mission assurance, key performance indicators, and business system data integrity. The daily responsibilities listed below are necessary in order to meet program costs and schedule requirements.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Prioritizes project issues and assists in the resolutions process to meet productivity, quality, and organizational goals and contractual delivery requirements.
• Managing employees, including the administration of performance reviews/discussions; career growth development; hiring; cross training, PTO staffing management, and time approval.
• Provide communication as directed or required by higher level management to ensure employees are aware of pertinent organization or customer information.
• Evaluating and coordinating material requirements with quality, operations, program management, and purchasing in order to meet contract deliverables.
• Ultimately responsible to ensure all needed packaging supplies are ordered, purchased, and on site for use as needed for all shipments.
• Ensuring continuous improvement of standard logistics processes.
• Communicate and collaborate directly with internal and external customers.
• Capture and record team performance through metrics.
• Meeting on time deliveries including program costs and scheduling requirements.
• Continually evaluate cost saving & process improvement opportunities.
• Meet established metrics and KPI’s for the outbound and shipping process.
• Facilitate change within the department to improve processes, accuracy and accountability.
• Work in a collaborative environment with other Supply Chain and logistics leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:

• Demonstrate the understanding of enterprise Resource Planning, Warehouse Management System (WMS), SAP, and Logistics execution utilizing business tools.
• Demonstrate experience in government transportation and international (EXIM/ITAR) requirements.
• Department of Transportation Hazmat certification.
• Demonstrate effective development and growing a team.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a Third-Party Logistics environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong business acumen and demonstrate problem solving skill set.
