SHIPPING MANAGER/DISPATCHER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job title: SHIPPING MANAGER/ DISPATCHER
Work Location: FRANCESVILLE OFFICE
Shift: 7AM – 5PM
Department: DISTRIBUTION
Reports to: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Summary: The primary function of the Shipping Manager/Dispatcher is to be accountable for planning and implementing the overall shipping strategy and strategic improvements. This position must work closely with Account Managers and Production to ensure On-Time Delivery goals from the Francesville location are being met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following but is not limited to:
- Schedule, plan and confirm deliveries. Use of online tracking system to ensure delivery locations
- Keep track of employee locations and dispatch them to and from jobs. Fill out paperwork, keep track of expenses, answer customer/driver phone calls, keep track of vehicles and other asset maintenance schedules, and set up routes for drivers
- Works with Account Managers, Yard Supervisor and other office personnel at all Fratco locations.
- Assists in determining daily level of driver staffing to provide best mix of responsiveness and productivity while maintaining great customer service.
- Assigns routes to appropriate Drivers throughout the day and for the next day
- Records and documents information from Drivers and distributes to appropriate departments
- Communicates with maintenance / shop personnel
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Requirement: Shipping/Logistics
Will need to communicate problems with appropriate staff at all locations.
Work with Human Resources if personnel issues arise

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed
- routines, and standard accepted practices
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or 2-8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Must be able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Safety glasses must be worn in the production plant at all times for your protection
