Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Job description
Our manufacturing company is seeking to place a Shipping/Receiving Operator with a focus on inventory and procurement. Our company manufactures High Performance Resins for powder coating. We are in growth mode and looking for experienced individuals to receive, verify, and maintain records of incoming shipments. The operator’s primary duties include verifying and recording incoming materials and arranging for production or storage in a safe and efficient manner as well as assisting with procurement for required tools, materials, and supplies for the plant. This individual will support and help maintain accurate inventory by conducting weekly inventory counts. Our receiving department is responsible for offloading/loading rail cars, tankers, and trucks. This is a general position that performs a wide variety of duties that are based on the daily needs of our receiving and production operation. It is expected that the operator will possess the ability to understand and adhere to safety and receiving logistics, standard operating procedures, and regulatory policies.
***All interviews are conducted onsite to include a facility tour. Interviews are conducted Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm. Available dates and times for interview must be provided.***
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Examine receiving contents and compare with records, such as manifests and orders, to verify accuracy
· Offload/unload materials and merchandise from vendor trailers, rail cars, and tankers utilizing a sit-down forklift
· Stage materials on warehouse floor
· Perform daily walk around inspections of all equipment to identify any potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained always
· Perform weekly inventory counts
· Researching and ordering needed tools, materials, and supplies.
· Maintain a clear and safe work environment
· Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of receiving materials
· Perform/assist in general labor and preventive maintenance tasks as needed
· Perform tasks to support customer service and company goals
· Meet established standards for productivity and quality
· Communicate well and work with others
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High School GED/diploma required.
· Self-starter, with a strong work ethic
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving, math, and organizational skills
· Strong Customer service skills
· Basic Computer skills required
· Preferred experience in raw materials, chemicals, bulk freight, shipping and receiving, and bill of lading
· Sit-down forklift experience (certification required)
· Railcar experience preferred
· Able to pass drug and background
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
