For over 40 years the Women's Center of East Texas has served survivors of domestic abuse, their witnessing children, and victims of sexual assault. We are looking for compassionate, service-oriented Caseworkers at our Shelter who have a desire to assist these clients. Would you like to join us?
Shift Availability: 10pm-8am days vary
What you would be doing in this role:
- Provide clients with quality client-centered, trauma informed care.
- Work with other agency staff to coordinate services to assist clients in meeting personal goals.
- Maintain shelter upkeep including room preparation and sanitation.
- Answer hotline calls, which sometimes includes providing emergency transportation for the callers to access shelter services.
- Document the services provided.
The qualifications you need for this role:
- High School Diploma required.
- Bachelors Degree in related field or combination of social services experience and education.
- Basic knowledge of Family Violence preferred
- Knowledge and experience of working in residential/shelter environment preferred
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends
- Active Listening
- Empathy and Compassion
- Knowledge of basic computer skills
- Self-motivated, self-confident, and compassionate
- High moral and ethical standards.
- Ability to complete required training assignments and understand the dynamics of Family Violence and other related issues
