Job Title: Shelling Operator
Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Shelling Supervisor

Allergen Alert: This facility processes peanuts.

In 2003, American Peanut Growers Group, LLC (APGG) constructed a start-of-the-art peanut shelling plant to process the peanuts produced by our members that has gained support and attention on the state and national levels. Our business structure matches the idea that true quality is a journey, not an achievement, requiring continual training and improvement, and growers are invited to become members based on their character and quality.

Now, APGG has taken the next step in this journey with the creation of American Peanut Ingredients, LLC (API), which will take the peanut process to the next level…Ready to Eat! The API project will move the peanut process into a paste and granular production which will be used in everyday products such as peanut butter, snacks and energy bars. If you think you have this same level of character and quality, then API is inviting you to come and be a part of this new journey.

API is actively seeking candidates interested in a long-term career path in the peanut industry as a Shelling Operator for third shift only. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the shelling plant during the designated shift. • Attend and successfully complete the Forklift Operator’s Course prior to operating any type of Forklift on API property.
  • Attend daily shift huddle meetings with team discussing safety, food safety, quality, and production needs and or misses from previous day.
  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime, if necessary).

Sanitation Schedule and Preventive Control Rules

  • Work closely with maintenance personnel to assure that machinery and equipment are in compliance with all sanitary and Safe Food operating conditions.
  • Follow API Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Follow all API Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Understand and follow API safety policies, work safely and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the Operations Manager, your Immediate Supervisor, or Safety Coordinator.
