The Service Sales Technician position is responsible for generating work for the service shop, while establishing and maintaining exceptional relationships to help promote The Shyft Group brand for the company’s various product lines including, but not limited to, emergency response bodies and chassis, motorhome chassis, and specialty vehicles.

Job Description

• Actively sell service and maintenance contracts, product warranty opportunities, etcetera to generate work and revenue for the service shop
• Manage working relationship and sales approvals with multiple payees, such as customers, extended warranty companies, and OEMs
• Utilize appropriate levels of empowerment to “Do the Right Thing” for our customers
• Embrace the opportunity to be the face ofthe company
• Write up complete and accurate bids and estimates
• Develop and work a constant bank of leads and prospects for service / sales opportunities
• Serve as backup for front office duties such as service writing and customer complaint verifications
• Lead and direct on the climate of the customer and share market ideas, such as those to help promote bothcompany and the garage
• Establish and maintain an aggressive performance log, illustrating leads, prospects, closed sales, and all open deals
• Communicate any warranty support / discussions with Customer and Product Support (CPS) to ensure proper documentation
• Assist technicians with obtaining technical documentation needed for repairs
• Create and maintain shop related process documentation in accordance with ISO standards
• Support the creation of SRTs for repetitive jobs
• Manage expenses within approved budget constraints
• Communicate with cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
• Work in proximity with customers, dealers, and OEMs, as needed
• Solve complex problems with minimal assistance
• Other tasks as assigned
