Responsibilities

PROGRAM MANAGER – Sepsis
Dignity Health Northridge Hospital Medical Center
Responsible for overseeing and participating in the facility’s sepsis program and is accountable for assessing and coordinating the management of potential sepsis patients or those who have been diagnosed with sepsis. The Sepsis Coordinator serves as a role model and works collaboratively with the medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to sepsis patients which includes the following: researches and drives implementation of evidence-based practices as related to sepsis care; provides clinical and professional expertise of patients, families and staff members; collects, analyzed, makes recommendations and reports sepsis related date in collaborations with quality management. The Sepsis Coordinator/Educator provides sepsis education at the bedside and in the classroom as well as general education as required. Assesses barriers and implements bundle compliance strategies.

Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of recent critical care/ emergency department or recent telemetry experience
  • Acute crucial care experience/emergency department with solid grasp of hemodynamics, preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience in lieu of the degree. Master’s degree in health related field preferred.
  • Current RN License.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Must have analytical skills for collecting and analyzing data.
  • Must thoroughly understand the Core Measure/CMS Sepsis Bundle requirements, and remain current on any changes or updates to either initiative.
  • Must be very comfortable communicating with physicians and other nursing staff.
