SUMMARY: The
Senior Vice President of Sales position is a Senior Sales position in Bureau Veritas’ (BV) Project Management Division
with a focus on multi-site retail construction projects. This division provides program and project management, design-build, and turnkey execution services on a national scale for clients in retail, restaurant, grocery, banking, hospitality, airport, automotive, convenience store/petroleum, healthcare, and electric vehicle (EV) charging. This position will be specifically focused on expanding our presence nationally in the retail, automotive retail, c-store, grocery, and restaurant markets through sales targeting, prospecting, proposing, and closing new business. BV’s Project Management division has grown by 235% over the last 4 years. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to sell business-to-business services and solution-selling vs selling a product.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background in sales within the retail construction realm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include
the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.
Core Duties:
- Establishes objectives within the market by identifying key organizations and researching and analyzing these organizations; understands current and future market trends for key organizations.
- Ability to travel, on average, approximately 50-80% of time across the U.S. via plane and driving as determined based on client/project location. Overnight stays away from home will be required.
- The Senior Vice President of Sales will work closely with the Executive Vice President, Sales (Project Management).
- One of the key position objectives is to identify and qualify potential clients that fit BV’s ideal client profile with the goal of setting up client meetings to propose engagements with BV. The performance of the Sr. VP Sales in this area will be a key measure of effectiveness in the first six months in the position.
- Follow up and close leads established in conjunction with the Executive Vice President, Sales (Project Management).
- Establishes objectives by forecasting and developing sales plan for assigned territories and projecting expected sales volume.
- Develops relationships with targeted clients by facilitating introductions, building rapport through additional contact, arranging /attending business events, and participating in industry functions.
- Services targeted clients by conducting sales calls to establish an understanding of the account’s business strategies and organizational structure, as well as to position BV’s capabilities.
- Customizes BV services for clients by adjusting and focusing the sales efforts to targeted client’s business needs.
- Increases BV's business by developing broad, deep, long-term relationships within the client’s organization.
- Compiles and submits information on specific client transactions for preparation of proposals, statements of qualification, etc.
- Responds to client Requests for Information, Quotations, and Proposals while meeting strict deadlines.
- Acts as client representative within BV to identify and direct investigation of problems, develop solutions, and ensure projects are delivered as requested by client.
- Keeps management informed by working within Salesforce and communicating with management on a weekly/monthly basis about activities/progress within the assigned region.
- Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, market trends, etc.
- Represents BV at local and national industry-specific conferences.
- Enhances professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

- Demonstrates BV’s guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.
- Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV's quality standards and strategic initiatives.
- Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
- May be required to work overtime.
- Candidate will live within one hour of a major airport.
- May be asked to travel 50% to 80% of the time to client sites across the U.S. via plane and driving as determined based on meeting or training location.
- Ability to use and skillfully operate a computer is essential to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Architecture, Construction, or Engineering is preferred.
- A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Academic exposure in marketing, public relations, advertising, or communications would also be helpful.
Experience
:
- 8+ years of experience in the retail or commercial construction or related industry is required.
- 3 – 5 years of sales experience in a related field, preferably retail construction, architecture/engineering, or real estate is preferred.
- Proven sales record of developing and achieving sales objectives; experience developing and implementing a strategic sales plan.
- Demonstrated ability to penetrate targeted retail client accounts and form deep, long-term relationships with client partners.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
Skills:
- Proven history of direct sales, negotiations, networking, managing accounts, and an in-depth knowledge of construction practices (pricing, estimating, preconstruction, construction execution, and fee structures).
- Robust knowledge of construction markets with the ability to research and collect data of markets.
- Highly skilled in presentations, oral and written communication, motivating others, providing a high level of service after the sale, leading, and communicating to variety of audiences is necessary.
- Will need to be self-motivated, creative, and take personal enjoyment in the process of deal-making and be able to assist the management team in strategic planning.
Other Qualifications
- Personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000 required (to be expensed to company for reimbursement) should you need to travel for trainings, meetings, and/or tradeshows.
- Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service.
- Must be able to work from a remote location.
- Ability to travel up to 50 - 80% of the time to client sites across the U.S. via plane and driving as determined based on meeting or training location.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
- Able to skillfully operate a computer.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid driver's license is required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record).
