Title: Senior User Experience Researcher

Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate Senior User Experience Researcher to join our product group to drive user insights, research and experimentations across our sports, finances and lifestyle verticals. You will be part of a team that is focused on building innovative product solutions for our online publications, simplifying product discovery, improving content management for our editors, and increasing our premium product subscriber base. The role will play an integral part in developing an in-depth view of our overall product portfolio from the customer's lens. In this role you will adapt to the company's business model, and deliver product solutions that combine qualitative insights with web analytics, quantitative user research and marketing insights.
The Arena Group's expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $110,000 - $160,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group's total compensation and benefits available to its employees.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our product management, marketing, editorial and design teams to identify design objectives, establish and implement an overall user experience strategy.
- Establish clear design KPIs and UX benchmarking that will be the basis for all major design projects.
- Build behavioral UX KPIs that account for Task success rate (TSR), Attitudinal UX KPIs, System Usability Scale (SUS), Net Promoter Score (NPS), Customer satisfaction (CSAT)
- Work with our audience development and analytics teams to aggregate all customer feedback, provide a research loop to inform new and ongoing design solutions.
- Create customer journeys, visualize through a map that combines empathy and behavioral insights
- Perform product design reviews or heuristic evaluations.
- Provide rough sketches and baseline concepts to further drive design thinking
- Design and facilitate user workshops, surveys, unmoderated interactive tests, and other research methods to inform design decisions. Provide results analysis from such research activities.
- Drive our AB testing program, develop testing hypothesis, drive design solution, and support result analysis followed by release recommendations
- Establish a research and insight repository that leverages historical data, customer archetypes and ongoing design research
- Support planning and delivery of future roadmap items.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in a UX role with proven track record in the domain of software product design
- Academic background or practical experience in information design, information architecture and data visualization and prototyping
- Experience with remote user research tools like UserZoom or UserTesting
- Experience with AB testing methodology, familiarity with tools like UserZoom or UserTesting
- Experience tracking user behavior and funnel analysis via Google Analytic, HotJar or similar tools
- Some experience with Figma best practices, file organization, and prototyping
- Experience facilitating design thinking workshops is a big plus
- Experience applying design thinking and preparing/conducting design sprints is a big plus
- A strong presenter, who knows how to pull insights & research data to drive the discussion forward
- Experience shipping direct-to-consumer products is a major plus
- Manages multiple assignments at once and has good project management skills.
- Great communication skills and the ability to work in a team
