SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for capital planning, job cost, debt, construction in progress and other ad hoc reports for functional areas as necessary
· Primary accounting contact with construction department to research and resolve errors and issues in job cost
· Ensure accurate percentage of completion calculations
· Monthly reconciliation of notes payable, escrows, prepaid loan fees, predevelopment cost, construction in progress, cash surrender value of life insurance, income tax liability accounts, and other reconciliations as necessary
· Assist Accounts Payable Manager in the GL research and corrections
· Assist Accounts Payable Manager in monitoring of banking fraud
· Maintain bank account documentation to support financial operations and accounting
· Set up new bank accounts ensuring proper controls are set up
· Maintain loan agreements and documentation (e.g., loan agreements, amortization schedules, debt ledgers, etc.) to support financial records and reporting
· Set up drafts for notes payable and ensure note payments are paid timely and recorded accurately and timely
· Maintain life insurance policy information to support financial records and reporting
· Set up drafts for life insurance premiums, ensure note payments are paid timely and recorded accurately and timely
· Prepare, file escrow, and record new construction loan draws timely and accurately
· Prepare and file personal property tax returns timely and accurately
· Ensure accurate and timely payment of franchise and income tax payments for entities.
· Coordinate communication with tax jurisdictions over tax issues as necessary by coordinating with CFO and outside tax firm
· Assist Accounts Payable Manager on credit card process, transition to ACH payments and other projects as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
· Minimum of five years of accounts payable experience
· Job cost experience
· Sage 300CRE / Timberline experience preferred
· Good working knowledge of MS Office software
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Professional demeanor
· Positive attitude
