Description

SAIC is actively searching for a Software Engineer to join our team. The software engineer will provide support to the software engineering team for the designated project. This includes the project software code development and model definition. The candidate will review tactical software code and requirements to develop code to support the required tactical software capabilities.

• The candidate will also develop software requirements for the applications and prepare software application design documentation.
• The candidate will support the requirements preparation for tactical software developed by the military.
• The candidate will support data modeling for tactical systems using software tools
• The candidate will provide software engineering support
• The candidate will prepare software engineering deliverables for the project
• The candidate will attend technical meetings and generate status information
• The candidate will develop software code for the project
• The candidate will help identify and diagnose problems and issues observed during the software development and unit testing.
• The candidate will work with the test engineers to integrate the software tools into the test laboratory and to train the operators on the use of the tool capabilities.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Clearance:

• Interim Secret Security clearance is required to begin employment; Secret Security Clearance is required to maintain employment.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience coding in C++ or C#
• Background working on tactical networking applications in the missile defense or aerospace communities
• Experience with developing test support tools for tactical networks and tactical software
• Ability to lead sub-component development and report progress to the task engineering lead

Desired Skills:

• Experience with scripting languages desired (Python, Pearl)
• Understanding of object broker and TCP/IP developed code
• Experience with Military tactical applications
• Experience with military equipment
• Experience with battle management command and integrated fire control network systems
