Mission:

The Senior Quality Engineer is accountable for delivery practices that drive a high level of quality and testing efficiency within our products. The mission of the Senior Quality Engineer is to increase the speed of test execution, extend product test coverage, facilitate early detection of defects, reduce errors and complexity in the test process, and provide predictability in the R&D delivery process. This position plays a critical role in the growth and evolution of automated testing capabilities.

Job Description

The SR. QA Engineer will be responsible for developing and enhancing automation testing frameworks in a way that makes them more intuitive to use and easier to maintain without requiring detailed direction or supervision. They will design and script automated tests that ensure broad test coverage and speed up the test execution process for complex product models. This person will use deep domain-specific knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and keen attention to detail to achieve exceptional test accuracy while also utilizing expert knowledge of web technologies and data structures to write optimized, scalable code that runs with high efficiency. The QA Engineer will have curiosity and outstanding technical skills to identify quality risks early in the testing process and collaborate with other R&D Teams to identify ways to solve them. This person will achieve depth and scope of testing through automation that has a transformative impact on the quality of our products. They will need to think strategically and demonstrate the ability to think critically, plan test strategies, visualize current and future test scenarios, and identify new opportunities for improved quality outcomes. Learning quickly will be imperative to demonstrate the ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information, especially new technology. A Logility SR QA Engineer will model skills and behaviors at test automation that set a high standard for success. Effective communication, both written and verbal, will be important to successfully adapt communications to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences, and win converts to key ideas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field, preferred
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Strong experience in automation scripts development in C#/.NET Framework for 4+ years
• Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Appium, Protractor, Visual Studio (NUnit/xUnit/MsTest), etc.
• Hands-on experience in front-end, API, and/or database test automation: Selenium, Cypress, Serenity, BDD, REST API testing, Cucumber
• Proficiency with web technologies and data structures – HTML, CSS, XML, DOM
• Experience in and thorough understanding of developing, and enhancing automation testing frameworks
• Strong understanding of SOA, Microservices, Object-oriented analysis, design, knowledge of containers and virtualization, and modern digital technology stack.
• Proficiency in SQL
• Experience in automation technologies such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Datical, Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration – Azure, Jenkins, etc., a plus
• Experience in high volume, high throughput web/eCommerce/Supply Chain environment, a plus
• Demonstrated experience with industry-standard Quality Assurance best practices for Agile and Iterative SDLCs, testing methodologies, implementation, and deployment activities
• Experience working with requirements
• Experience creating test documentation (test plans, test cases, test reports, basic test metrics)
• Experience with defect tracking/management tools such as JIRA
• Experience in everyday use of version control system (Git)
• Experience testing in a continuous integration environment – Azure, Jenkins/TeamCity, Maven, etc., a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
