The Quality Control Laboratory Chemist provides critical confirmation regarding specific chemical and quality characteristics of Greenfield Global products. Raw materials, in-process, and finished products are routinely evaluated to ensure they meet strict industry and customer specifications. Testing must be performed in an efficient, safe, and timely manner while adhering to Good Laboratory Practices.

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Perform various types of testing using chromatographic systems (GC), Karl Fischer, UV/Spec, ICP-MS, FTIR, DMA, and various wet chemistry analyses.
  • Perform method validation, transfer, and verification of various compendia requirements.
  • Troubleshoot method and instrumentation problems.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation (particularly GC and ICP-MS) for product testing, including routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Perform incoming raw material sampling and testing, in-process analyses, and finished product release testing by a variety of specified methods.

· Train, mentor, and guide junior analysts.

  • Perform Daily Performance Verifications on all instruments.
  • Ability to interpret test data, identify out-of-trend and out-of-specifications test results, root cause, and implement corrective actions.
  • Review and verify quality control data and Certificates of Analysis
  • Review and verify batch records for errors and non-conformances.
  • Release of products for shipment and stock in ERP electronic systems
  • Communicated effectively with other laboratory staff, production, supply chain, and other related departments.
  • Become familiar with the customer base and specific customer requirements.
  • Adhere to all quality, safety, and material handling procedures.
  • Perform additional projects as delegated by QC Manager

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with at least five years or a master’s degree with relevant experience.
  • GMP experience in a lab environment is preferred.
  • Must have in-depth working knowledge of verification/Validation of USP (or other regulatory bodies) or in-house proprietary methods.
  • Practical and hands-on experience in GC and ICP-MS (troubleshooting and operating) is strongly preferred.
  • Familiar with modern instrumentation, including Karl Fisher, UV, TOC, FTIR, and DMA
  • Experience in writing, reviewing, and approving regulatory documents such as protocols, reports, deviation, SOPs etc.
  • Able to multitask and adjust priorities in response to changing conditions and schedules.
  • Team player with well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
