The Production Supervisor conducts all activities associated with leading, motivating, and developing, frontline resources and processes within our manufacturing operations. Reporting into the Sr. Shift Operations Manager, this role is responsible for monitoring daily output goals, driving cost efficiencies, continuous improvement on processes, championing safety and quality best practices, and digging in to solve operational issues hindering performance targets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead team of 20+ front line Associates on an assigned shift including shift start-up meetings to ensure information is relayed between shifts, employee attendance, scheduling, overtime and payroll
- Partner with and lead Shift Supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments on overnight shifts
- Champion and lead an effective safety culture. Coach for safe behaviors and compliance with safety policies and procedures. Maintain product quality and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with Quality on employee training to ensure food safety, product quality, and GMP requirements are followed and the highest quality standards are maintained
- Flex production plans on a shift-by-shift basis, managing through issues to prevent service issues and operational inefficiencies.
- Manage the performance of direct reports through performance reviews, in the moment coaching, and career development action plans.
- Optimize ingredient and packaging material usage to minimize waste.
- Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short and long term performance goals.
- Deliver effective change leadership - driving business changes while minimizing people impact.
- Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues.
- Facilitate maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, contracts and procedures. Administer policies and procedures.
- Provide regular authentic recognition and motivate the team through creating a positive work environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues that arise and identify opportunities for greater efficiencies
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with all cross functional teams such as maintenance, customization, raw materials, planning, and warehousing
NOTE: This is a day shift position with 12-hour rotating daytime shifts resulting in at least 2 long weekends per month.
Recipe for Success
- Minimum completed bachelor’s degree required, in the field of Science or Engineering strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food or other FDA regulated industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring, coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building skills.
- Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications
- Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.
- This role requires regular presence on the plant floor, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally
