Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field; supplemented by five years of experience in Infrastructure Management or System Management experience, deploying and managing virtualized systems, Active Directory, SCCM, MS Exchange; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Microsoft Certified Professional, VM Ware certified professional. Preferred

Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Working knowledge of storage administration configuration (NAS, SAN, DAS, RAID, etc.). Experience handling migrations from on-premise Exchange, SharePoint, and storage solutions to Office365 email, SharePoint, OneDrive or Teams. Strong experience with Mailbox, CAS and Transport server roles on Microsoft Windows virtual servers. Ability to migrate a messaging transport architecture. Knowledge with deploying. Experience managing a virtual infrastructure (VM Ware, Nutanix NOS, Microsoft Azure IaaS platforms). Experience building, migrating, and/or upgrading Windows Server, Exchange Servers, Windows Terminal Server. Strong knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) to provide wireless administration in addition to Active Sync (Airwatch, InTune).

Purpose of Classification:

The Senior Office 365 System Engineer designs, manages, operates, and implements, computing infrastructure in support of Office/Microsoft 365 which may include Exchange, SharePoint, and Azure Active Directory. The position will provide technical leadership for project and operational teams.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Support and manage Office/Microsoft 365 Environment; Support and manage Azure AD Environment; Support and manage advanced Microsoft 365 Services including Mobile Device Management (Intune, SCCM/MEM, AirWatch), Identity Management and Data Governance.

Support and manage hybrid configuration on premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory

Including but not limited to: Account Administration, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP; Exchange 2013/2016 Server and Exchange Online Hybrid.

Lead initiatives for researching and deploying new applications; lead IT projects with third-party vendors; assist in managing Support Services and related deliverables; working with end-users and vendors to support applications and environments

Provides technical leadership for complex system implementations, maintenance, patching and updates services.

Defines configuration requirements for the deployment of Office/Microsoft 365; attends Vendor presentations. Lead and evaluate proof of concept or pilot trial implementations. Researches vendor solutions and industry forums and reviews.

Troubleshoots and resolves routine server, storage and software issues, and repairs defective components; serves as a technical escalation level for help desk incidents to diagnose and resolve complex incidents work with vendor support staff to resolve incidents. Diagnoses, designs and implement proactive solutions to systematic problems escalated by junior staff. Reviews change requests for planned system updates and patches. troubleshoots and resolve issues with user access to Office 365 services.

Provides technical support for application development and IT engineering staff; responds to new or complex service request for server and storage change requests by application development and IT engineering staff. Work with application development and IT engineering staff to diagnose and repair complex application system issues and outages.

Review document and maintain computer infrastructure processes, procedures and system documentation.

Communicates with County officials, supervisor, other employees, clients, third party service contractors, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.

Additional Functions:
