Job description
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a corporate windows server environment hosted in Azure. Including strong hardware, software, backup, and tier 3 technical support for all Azure based resources and on-premise resources at remote sites. This position works closely with the user community, application owners and other members of the IT infrastructure team to resolve incidents and meet service requests within appropriate SLA's. The Sr. Infrastructure engineer is expected to be the SME in one or more areas of server technologies. In addition to daily responsibilities the Sr. Infrastructure Engineer will be assigned to lead and work on multiple IT projects, Proof of Concepts, and test labs.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
· Design, implementation, maintenance and administration of Azure IAAS windows server environment, storage, and PAAS offerings.
· Design, implementation, maintenance, and administration of Office 365 Environment
· Responding to IT related helpdesk tickets regarding hardware and software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
· Responding to server/application monitoring alerts, leading troubleshooting efforts.
· Maintenance and administration of Active Directory, DNS, IIS, SFTP and other network services.
· Maintenance and administration of the backup environment.
· Maintenance and administration of server technologies inventories and documentation.
· Training and Mentoring more junior infrastructure team members
· Provide 2nd/3rd level problem call triage and resolution for local and remote users.
· After-hours on call support for server technologies
Qualifications
- High level of expertise with all aspects of Azure cloud technologies (IAAS and PAAS)
- High level of expertise in Office 365 technologies including but not limited to SharePoint, Exchange and Microsoft Teams
- High level of expertise with Active Directory, DNS, FTP, IIS and all Windows server platforms
- Good judgment and analytical skills; strong organizational and time management skills
- Minimum 5 years of related experience supporting corporate server equipment
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
