Senior Human Resources Generalist


Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, this position will provide a broad range of human resources services in support of the business operations. This position will assist the Manger to implement and administer policies and programs for both the Wever plant site and other US based sites. The position will also partner with management and employees providing overall senior level generalist support. The ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate with all levels in the organization will be key to be successful in this role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

At a minimum, tasks will include, but not limited to:

  • Ensure personal and company compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Assist Manager with maintaining pertinent metrics and analysis.
  • In conjunction with the Manager, manage workforce headcount and update org chart as needed.
  • Review, prepare and maintain employee handbook and other policies and procedures as requested under the direction of the Manager.
  • Handle employee relations and discipline in accordance with company policy.
  • Develop, prepare, generate, and analyze special reports including issues such as benefit cost, staffing levels, overtime, turnover, absenteeism, etc.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and organization as a whole.
  • Determine proper course of action to resolve escalated customer service issues.
  • Hands on leader engaged in the business to fully understand the needs of the organization.
  • Assist the Manager in the daily administration of services.
  • Serve as company representative at community events as requested.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems with the Manager and HC Director of OCI Americas.
  • Gather data to support annual salary surveys.
  • Partner with Talent and Development team and Manager on recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel. Assist with student internships and/or temporary employees. Assist with job advertisements.
  • Interpret plan procedures and policies.
  • Recommend and advise on benefit enhancements and changes.
  • Participate in team staff meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
  • Position requires limited supervision and direction.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license. Always ensure HR has a copy of a current, valid license on file.
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of HR experience, or a master’s degree and 5+ years of experience in the HR field; or any similar combination of education and experience.

Experience and Skills

  • Well versed in employment law, policies, procedures, and reporting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience implementing new HR processes and programs.
  • Previous experience with the HR and Payroll systems (ADP and SAP) is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with employee relations, training and staffing in a manufacturing plant preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent time management skills. Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize work to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic, customer focused professional with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail always maintained.
  • Able to quickly handle a high volume of projects that require safe work habits at all times.
  • Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 20 pounds.
