JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a strategic partner, the Human Resources Business Partner aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The successful Human Resources Business Partner will partner with business line leaders in the joint goal of achieving business objectives. The Human Resources Business Partner is a change agent and assesses and anticipates HR-related needs of clients and employees. Communicating needs proactively with our Functional HR department and business management, the Human Resources Business Partner seeks to develop integrated solutions. The Human Resources Business Partner formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The Human Resources Business Partner maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business units financial position, its culture and its competition.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Effectively counsel business leaders in the areas of employee relations, recruitment and selection, performance management, employment, wage and salary administration, new hire orientation and training, benefits and employee services
  • Consults with management on performance, organizational, and leadership matters.
  • Conducts needs assessments to determine measures required to enhance employee job performance and overall company performance
  • Regularly meet with respective business units to build a strong relationship of trust and counsel
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • Provide benefits counseling to employee population; specifically pertaining to Worker’s Compensation and Leaves of Absences
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual employee and executive coaching needs
  • Design and develop HR training programs for management and employees
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Identify top performers in the organization and build development/succession plans
  • Create professional development plans for employees at all levels as appropriate
  • May perform other duties as assigned

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business, psychology or similar discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in a similar HR role
  • Expert knowledge in dealing with and resolving complex employee relations issues, strong experience in building relationships with business line counterparts
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws
  • Expert communication skills both verbal and written, strong work ethic and ability to be dynamic and evolve in an ever-changing landscape
  • Relevant industry experience a plus
