The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Quality has an opening for a Senior Environmental Scientist (supervisory) in the Watersheds and Wetlands Section, Forestry and Wildfire Resiliency Unit. The Unit is responsible for developing and implementing policies, permits and collaborative agreements with local state and federal agencies to address water quality issues associated with Wildfire mitigation and response. Specific activities include: issuing and enforcing permits under federal Clean Water Act and California Water Code authorities; developing policies and procedures directed at resource protection; and working with internal and external partners to develop approaches to assess and improve forest health and water quality within the state. Periodic travel will be required.

The position is located at 1001 I Street, 18 Floor, Sacramento, right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.
