Senior Enterprise Data Analyst

The Enterprise Data Analyst Senior performs analytical and support functions to help the division and the company meet its goals. Incumbents are highly skilled resources capable of supporting and leading advancements in Cambia analysis, data management, and overall strategic and tactical decision support. The Enterprise Data Analyst works effectively with business and technical domain experts across organizational lines, bringing a business-oriented but cross-functional perspective to leadership and project teams. Applicants should have healthcare claims and SQL experience, also additional ITS experience is helpful.
General Functions and Outcomes
  • Develops an in depth knowledge of health plan operations, health plan data sources and structures, and cost containment strategies; including how these subjects relate to the company’s products and competitive market position
  • Provides analytical support to any or all divisions of the organization
  • Develops methodologies and approaches to new tasks and projects
  • Responsible for producing or advising the production of timely and accurate research, analysis, and recommendations with respect to program efficiency analysis, measurement, and reporting
  • Coordinates and advises analysts on a project basis, and assists in the training of staff as it relates to these projects
  • Serves as a Cambia wide resource on program evaluation and measurement
  • Keeps familiar with the latest developments in medical management programs, cost containment strategies, medical technology, market conditions as they relate to healthcare and revisions to existing coding structures
  • Identifies needed reporting, assembles or advises the assembly of reports, and distributes such information to the people who need it
  • Designs, develops or directs the development of, and directs the performance of acceptance testing of new reports, programs, and models
  • Proactively identifies issues and concerns to management
  • Participates in the division’s peer review processes
  • May assist, train, and learn from other team members
  • Applies a highly developed knowledge of health plan operations, health plan data sources and structures, and cost containment strategies to lead strategic and tactical decision making processes related to the company’s products and competitive market position
  • May supervise the gathering and analysis of information for a wide variety of business areas
  • Actively participates in analysis and projects company wide
  • Represents Cambia internally and externally as a subject matter expert
  • Applies knowledge of how various groups within the corporation work together to make the company run effectively and applies and deploys this knowledge appropriately as needed
  • Contributes to strategic and tactical planning efforts
  • Serves as needed on various committees; this will involve participation in multiple concurrent projects
  • Ability to lead analysis activities for projects and planning and documenting work through project management artifacts such as stakeholder diagrams, business cases, requirements management plans, and project plans and schedules
  • Act as most senior member of the team and provides domain expertise in all customer facing efforts
  • May provide informal leadership and mentoring to less experienced analysts; provides feedback to management on performance and skill level of less experienced team members
  • Delivers clear, concise and relevant communications regarding analytic projects to all levels of the organization and tailors messaging to the appropriate audience.
Minimum Requirements
  • Keen analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply Business Analysis tools, including strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Shown ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimum supervision
  • Proven success with project management
  • Incredibly motivated, self-starting nature; responds positively to moderate guidance yet is capable of and comfortable with independent critical thinking & problem solving
  • Sophisticated knowledge of program evaluation concepts and methodologies, with expertise in program effectiveness analysis, measurement, and reporting
  • Ability to work independently on complex projects and issues with large financial and/or risk impact to the corporation
  • Ability to think from the end users standpoint and to understand, translate and communicate technical and sophisticated ideas and situations to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated competency in one or more business area that is supported by this position (i.e. membership, healthcare services, finance, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability in leading and motivating small teams
  • Demonstrable experience in leading a team(s) of analysts across small to large efforts simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to establish standard processes, techniques, and methodologies to be used by analyst teams
  • Proven, highly effective interpersonal skills and ability to act as group motivator including ability to deliver communications to varied audiences
  • Detail oriented and organized
The Enterprise Data Analyst Senior would have a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science or an equivalent related field and 8+ years job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. Master’s degree preferred
Work Environment

  • Work primarily performed in office environment
  • May be required to work outside normal hours
