The Role:
Guardian Agriculture is in search of a candidate to fill an open role of Electrical Design Engineer. In this role, the candidate will assist in the development of unmanned and automated agricultural equipment and support systems. These systems will be deployed across the US in support of increasing crop productivity and yield through the efficient application of various agricultural chemicals on crops. As an Electrical Design Engineer, the candidate will have a direct impact on the reliability and success of these systems in a fast paced, challenging, yet supportive environment. This role requires the candidate to be an experienced self-starter with a strong emphasis on tangible results in context with timeline requirements. This candidate will assist in overseeing other Electrical Engineers and Interns to ensure that deliverables are met to specification and to timelines. The candidate will report directly to the Senior Electrical Engineer or VP of Hardware Engineering.
The Team:
Guardian Agriculture is developing large multicopters for applying agricultural chemicals to high-value crops. Relative to existing plane- and helicopter-based crop spraying solutions, our systems radically improve precision and safety while reducing chemical use, reducing impact on pollinating insects, and minimizing opportunities for organisms to acquire chemical resistance.

Responsibilities:
- Schematic capture, PCB Design and Manufacturing
- Overseeing Circuit Schematic Capture and PCB Design in Eagle
- Interfacing with external manufacturers for production of Class 3 boards
- Testing, debugging and repairing PCBs
- Maintain CAD libraries in an orderly manner
- Perform Design Reviews for other Electrical Engineering Staff
- Electrical Engineering:
- Ensure that Electrical Engineering deliverables remain on task and in scope according to requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to create build documentation for electrical assemblies, including cable drawings.
- Ability to solder to Class 2 or 3 per IPC J-STD-001 standards
- Assist in debugging and failure mode analysis
- Participate in design analysis as part of an FMEA team
- Provide feedback on top level design requirements
- Participate in safety and reliability analysis and evaluations proposed and existing designs
- Create tools and documentation to assist in effective testing activities
- Supporting and guiding Technician teams on various projects to meet deliverable dates
- Assist in improving the quality of the outputs of the company with regards to Electrical products
Requirements:
- B.S. or M.S in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EE Design Role “shipping product” in a mixed discipline environment
- Knowledge of digital and analog design fundamentals
- Proven ability to produce complex PCBs
Nice to Have:
- Experience guiding other Electrical Engineers and Technicians to produce complex assemblies
- Sensor Development and Integration
- Lithium-Polymer battery chemistries and management
- Experience with Mixed Signal and High Power distributed Electrical systems
- FAA, FCC, UL, CE, and other environmental standard governing bodies in a design capacity
