Sun Country Airlines is seeking a Senior Director Procurement, to lead the company’s procurement strategy, company spend reduction, and supplier excellence.

Senior Director Procurement Overview:
The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading all procurement efforts and will collaborate with the business units to maximize the value received from third-party suppliers and partners. The Director of Procurement will also establish trusted relationships with senior leadership to ensure alignment on objectives, budget, performance expectations, and to enlist support in improvement efforts.
Essential roles and responsibilities of a Senior Director Procurement:
- Develop and implement procurement policies, governance and best-practice processes, as well as an organizational procurement strategy (including establishing achievable goals)
- Establish contract governance and administration to mitigate risk and ensure strategic management of supplier agreements
- Build trusted relationships with senior leadership and business stakeholders throughout the Company to increase the influence/engagement of Procurement within various business teams
- Manage Company outsourcing activities, supplier/partner relationships and performance management through benchmarking and scorecards
- Identify and realize cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities, while striving for continuous improvements in quality, service and terms
- Lead and develop Procurement team, managing budget and resource allocation
- Select and manage procurement systems, spend analysis tools and reporting
- Lead the sourcing effort and contract negotiations on high risk, high-value or strategic acquisitions.
- Attend Industry meetings/conference as well as work collaboratively with other company Directors, external regulatory agencies, and industry resources.

Working Location: This position is open in Minneapolis, MN
The qualifications we are looking for in a Senior Director Procurement include:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, engineering or a related area
- 6 - 10 years progressive experience in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management with extensive experience in the transportation industry.
- 2 - 4 years most recent experience related to Airline industry.
- Significant understanding of strategic outsourcing and managed service providers
- Solid track record meeting substantial cost reduction targets
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter able to perform and communicate effectively within a multitasking environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and an eye towards important commercial terms in an agreement; sees conflict as the ability find the best possible answer – seeking win/win scenarios as opposed to Company-only focus
- Strong computer skills and experience using Windows-based PC programs, Spend Analysis tools, Procurement systems and Contract Lifecycle Management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices
- Extensive background in outsourcing of airport and related functions, airline technology and MRO procurement
- Ability to prioritize competing projects while maintaining strong business unit relationships
- Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
- Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, risk management, etc.
- Strong skills in Business Case creation and presentation

- Knowledge of enterprise risk management and business continuity planning
