Job description
Position Purpose
This Senior PHP Developer will join our team in implementing new functionality and enhancing existing features for the Ad-ID web application. Ad-ID is a creative ad registry used by advertisers, agencies, and publishers in North America. The person in this role will be responsible for maintaining the existing Ad-ID system as well as evolving it to support an enhanced user interface, API, and scalable architecture. You'll be involved in the entire product lifecycle including the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of new and existing features.
Ad-ID’s goal is to streamline the media supply chain, so the right ad is shown to the end consumer effectively and efficiently. Ad-ID benefits the whole ecosystem by providing an identity system for advertising assets and a consistent set of naming conventions to help companies across the industry transact with less friction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops secure, maintainable, performant, user-friendly software.
- Designs systems that adhere to security and process compliance.
- Works with product owners to refine requirements, as well as to understand the benefit and use cases.
- Collaborates with customer service teams across Ad-ID on technical projects.
- Helps refine DevOps practice and contributes to application infrastructure, automation, deployment, and security.
- Will design and deploy CI/CD pipelines.
- Stays current with contemporary software engineering best practices.
Strong experience (5+ years) with developing web applications using PHP and Drupal.- Strong experience using PHP frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel, CodeIgniter, etc.
- Strong in JavaScript and working knowledge of frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, etc.
- Strong experience deploying software in a VPC environment.
- Experience with the Bootstrap framework is preferred.
- Strong in source control systems (preferably git), including branching strategies and resolving merge conflicts.
- Strong experience with code review processes via pull/merge request reviews.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience with cloud engineering in environments such as AWS or Azure is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DBMS’s, including database architecture and query optimization.
- Strong understanding of common web security topics such as authentication/authorization, XSS, SQL injection, etc.
- Experience connecting to common third-party APIs such as Google and AWS.
Qualifications & Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in start-up-type environments.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and be a team player
