The Civil Engineering group within the Power Sector at TRC is seeking aSenior Civil Engineerto work closely with a diverse team of civil engineers, designers, and permitting specialists on land development projects associated with substations and renewable energy development projects across the country.
Location:New Orleans, LA (preferred) – Fully Remote Position
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering duties associated with the development of substation, solar, wind, and battery storage sites
- Act as Owner's Engineer for Major Utility
- Responsible for the development of permit-level site plans, stormwater management design, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs), and stormwater drainage reports
- Responsible for the development of construction site plans
- Prepare proposals and estimates for various projects
- Assist with project management including budgets, schedules, and client relations
- Be willing and able to travel to various regions in the Southern United States (10% minimum)
- Interface with local planning boards and state agencies
- Serve as Engineer of Record for projects
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 7-15 years of civil engineering experience land development
- Some experience in foundations and/or structure design is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience in site development, grading, stormwater design, erosion & sediment control
- Experience in AutoDesk Civil 3D or Microstation InRoads (preferred)
- Experience in AutoCAD Storm and Sanitary Analysis and/or HydroCAD software (preferred)
- Responsive attitude when interacting with staff, peers, management, and clients
