Become a Senior Billing Specialist on the Net Energy Metering (NEM) team at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will work within Customer Billing Operations (CBO), lending technical expertise to resolve billing issues for our solar customers. The Sr. Specialist will work alongside other billing specialists, various levels of management, advisors, and other cross-functional contacts regarding solar set-ups and complex billing scenarios. Problem solving expertise, billing systems knowledge, and other technical skills and know-how are required in this position to help resolve complex, escalated issues that include customer complaints, department backlog, training gaps, developing new efficient processes for complex billing scenarios, technical and/or system issues/limitations, and other billing related matters. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

• You will analyze and resolve complex customer issues using expert knowledge of multiple CBO usage and billing processes.

• Coach and mentor staff and be resourceful in approaching various issues regarding billing matters, always keeping the customer and the resolution of their issue as a top priority.

• Lead multiple specialists to resolve customers complex billing and solar set-up issues, following all necessary tariff and billing processes and procedures, and provide guidance to other CBO billing issues as needed.

• Demonstrate subject matter expertise to review business requirements documents for projects that will have an impact to CBO and provide recommendations to ensure a successful implementation in partnership with lead Project Managers.

• Represent CBO management in customer issue discussions with all levels of SCE management; make recommendations that have moderate to large impact.

• Collaborate with individuals and teams in CBO and across SCE to conceptualize, develop, and communicate strategic innovative solutions to address complex billing issues.

  
  

The essentials

• Five (5) or more years of experience performing complex analysis, consulting, and providing recommendations.

• Five (5) or more years of experience in an operational role leading technical processes and projects that impact customers.

• Professional experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

The preferred

• Three (3) years of experience performing billing, regulatory, or rate analysis work functions (Solar)

• Experience collaborating with other individuals and teams to resolve complex issues.

• Experience with IEE and SAP to resolve various billing related exceptions.

Remote: The position’s work mode is remote. Employee is able to work primarily at home or remote however, the employee may be expected to come to an SCE facility on occasion.
