Senior Application Analyst
Job Description
The Senior Application Analyst reports to the Chief Applications Officer and is the primary administrator and technical contact for university operational reporting needs. The Senior Application Analyst provides database, reporting, and integration support for a wide variety of constituents and applications.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES:

- Create operational reports as required for a wide variety of University constituents.
- Create SQL views, procedures, queries, etc.
- Create training material and perform training for reporting power users.
- Coordinate reporting platform patches, upgrades, migrations, etc. with users and System Administrators.
- Assist users and report writers with report creation, utilization, and secure distribution.
- Monitor reporting applications and infrastructure to ensure proper functionality, performance, and uptime.
- Assist programmers with inbound/outbound data integrations.
- Willingness and ability to complete MSSQL and Entrinsik Informer reporting training within six months from date of hire. Additional training will be required.
- Ensure appropriate user access permissions are configured, implemented, and maintained.
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and coordinate timely resolution to outages and problems.
- Continuously evaluate ERP reporting business requirements and promote new technologies, products, and methodologies as appropriate.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required by the department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) including writing complex T-SQL queries, views, and stored procedures.
- Proficient in Excel (Power Query, data connections, macros, VLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.).
- Experience working with stakeholders to evaluate, scope, create, and securely distribute reports.
- Strong understanding of business processes and data security concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of diverse backgrounds at a variety of administrative levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with and knowledge of Entrinsik Informer or alternate reporting products such as Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services, Argos, etc.
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience and understanding of .NET, XML, and JSON.
- Strong understanding of University business processes.
- Strong knowledge of Ellucian Colleague data architecture.
HOURS: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with after-hours support required as necessary.
