Position overview:

RIVA is seeking an Appian Developer to work in a fast-paced federal IT environment for the Department of Human Health Services (HHS). Prior federal experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Telework team for OFLC modernization tasks
• Develop Appian applications and integrate with other COTS products.
• Participate in analysis, design, development and testing of applications.
• Work with teams on reviewing and verifying implementation of applications according to design best practices, performance and security.
• Support data migration activities, such as mapping data elements, using ETL tools and writing stored procedures to migrate data between various databases.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of application and security documentation as requested from clients.
• Have a basic understanding of web development languages, protocols and technologies (HTML, CSS, HTTP, JSON) to implement basic functionality and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, partners and client resources on project-related tasks, to meet delivery dates.
• Previous .NET development experience.
• Producing code using .NET languages (C#, VB .NET).
• Upgrading, configuring and debugging existing systems.
• Providing technical support for web, desktop or mobile applications.

• 3-6 years experience working with Appian.
• Working knowledge and experience coding in Java is required.
• Knowledge of several of the following areas is desirable: Active Server Pages, JavaScript, Visual Basic, JavaScript, Access, HTML, DBMS's (ex. - Oracle, Sybase, etc.) and knowledge of SQL in SQL server.
• Agile software development practices, pair programming, stand-ups, planning sessions, and sprints.
• Experience leading small teams through post-sale software implementation.
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming.
• Experience working with relational databases.
• Experience with database design or data modeling.
• SQL skills - writing queries, joins, views, etc.
• Knowledge of software testing practice; Test-driven development, setup and execution of automated test suites within a continuous integration framework.
• Integrations experience using APIs such as REST and SOAP, JDBC connections, and web services.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain SAMHSA clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Amazon Web Services (AWS); Artificial Intelligence (AI), Analytics, Machine Learning, Google Cloud, Application Integration, Database, Developer Tools, Management & Governance, and Elastic Containers.

Minimum Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
