Senior Analyst, Technical Publications (Hybrid)
Job description
Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Technical Publications Analyst with the technical skills to assist an Aerospace Technical Publications group develop maintenance publications, parts cataloging and parts listing. You will work under general supervision in the application of theories, principles and concepts as it relates to technical publications across multiple programs. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques is expected. You will contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
This position will work in a hybrid capacity (onsite and offsite) in Chula Vista, CA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Drafting and publication of all technical communications. Also includes technical illustrations, 3D modeling and technical writing for service manuals.
- Conducting of general engineering services in conjunction with Project Engineering, Repair Engineering, Production Engineering as well as individuals with non-engineering degrees.
- Analyze Engineering for stablished or in development programs.
- Interpret engineering paper and digital as well as other sources such as BOM, material notes, engineering notes and part interchangeability.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
- Must have the ability to quickly learn new software and tools.
- Must have ability to delegate & manage tasks to corresponding teams
- Must have ability to provide technical response to internal and external customers in a timely manner
- Must have basic project management or project planning skills.
- Must be detail-oriented with good analytical skill, work well in a team environment, flexible to adjust to rapidly changing assignments and priorities.
- All-around technical savviness and the desire to learn new tools.
- Software: Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aerospace provisioning analysis skills.
- General familiarization with the suite of manuals used in the aerospace industry and how/or what are they are used for.
- Knowledge of ATA iSpec220 and S1000D specifications.
- Markup language (XML/SGML) authoring software (such as Adobe Framemaker or Arbortext EPIC Editor), technical Illustrations tools (such as Arbortext Isodraw, 3Dvia, CATIA, etc).
- Knowledge on relational databases, database servers or content management systems.
