Essential Job Functions:

Provide technical accounting and implementation support to members of finance and accounting teams on treatment of accounting issues within compliance of U.S. GAAP

Research, evaluate and document technical accounting implications for any new accounting standards and impact on current accounting policies

Prepare and record monthly and quarterly journal entries related to significant and non-routine transactions, including but not limited to investments, acquisitions, and dispositions

Review accounting procedures and policies for accuracy and correctness

Assist in account reconciliations and review of general ledger entries

Facilitate external reviews and audits to meet various regulatory requirements

Establish and maintain a library of key accounting policies and processes consistent with industry practices and US GAAP standards

Support the maintenance of the chart of accounts for all companies

Actively improve and maintain technical education and skills with emphasis in skilled nursing industry (healthcare)

Assist co-workers as necessary on projects and related duties as assigned

Collaborate with other departments and resources, as needed

STANDARDS:

Position-Specific:

Attestation work by independent auditors results in no significant deficiencies being reported

Proactively update key accounting policies and processes within 1 month of release

Cost reports filed in a timely manner 100% of the time

Respond to regulatory agencies questions and requests for additional information within the time frame requested 100% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting IS REQUIRED – CPA a plus
  • 4-7 years’ experience in accounting or finance related positions
  • Strong customer service skills and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong skill set in Microsoft Office products
  • Detailed oriented/high level of accuracy
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles, specifically US GAAP and related accounting standards, including ASC 842
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and respond to time sensitive deadlines
  • Flexible, strategic team player with high integrity and ethical standards
  • Knowledge of Great Plains and Sage Intacct a plus but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $95,000.00 per year
