Company Overview:

Our client is a successful Biopharmaceutical Company, that focuses on drug development utilizing artificial intelligence to identify and discover breakthrough treatments and improved therapies in neuroscience and immune oncology through its programs in clinical stages. Their employee count is within the 100-150 range and will be doubling in size in the next year or two!

They are advancing the next wave of medicines and significantly improving clinical and regulatory success of drug development. Their AI platform reduces therapeutic development costs and accelerates timelines while increasing success of each trial. Their two most advanced clinical development programs are for acute treatment of agitation resulting from neuropsychiatric disorders (which now has gone into commercial phases and FPA approved), and an investigational orally administered systemic innate immunity activator in development for treatment of a rare form of prostate cancer and for treatment of pancreatic cancer in combination with other immuno-oncology agents.

Position Overview:

We’re hiring for Senior Accountant for a successful BioTech/Pharma company in New Haven, as the company continues to grow/expand, doubling its staff count. In this role, you will handle a wide range of accounting duties, be part of a successful team, and help support the month end close process.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, ensuring the timelines and accuracy of account reconciliations, accruals and financial statements are in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling transactions and resolving any discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll processing and recording required general ledger entries.
• Assist with recommendations to improve the monthly close process ensuring compliance and reducing the number of days to close.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statement supporting schedules, disclosure needs and other internal and external reporting needs.
• Ensure compliance with internal control processes and requirements and support audit testing procedures.
• Interact with external auditors and provide audit support as directed.
• Work cross functionally to increase visibility and understanding of processes, controls and financial performance.

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance, Required
• CPA preferred, not required
• Minimum of 3-10 years of related progressive corporate accounting experience
• Experience with ERP / financial systems
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced and evolving environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
