Rolling Embers is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ember Enterprises, LLC, and was created to own and operate an adult-use cannabis store offering a wide variety of adult-use cannabis products in New Buffalo, Michigan. Position Summary

The Security Associate will oversee the safety of staff and customers, and the security of the facility. Reporting to the Security Manager, the Security Associate is responsible for security of the facility and its perimeter and will be trained in basic security protocols. The Security Associate is also responsible for the security and safety of the consumption lounge and the immediate environment outside of the facility perimeter. Finally, the Security Associate will maintain strict vigilance for the prevention of diversion and deviation of cannabis, cannabis products, branded collateral and/or accessories.

In addition, the Security Associate is expected to:

• Pay heightened attention to employee and customer safety/security
• Correctly apply standard operating procedures to ensure retail regulatory compliance
• Verify all customers are at least 21 years old prior to entry into the store
• Confirm that no one enters the store and/or consumption lounge without proper identification and verification, at any time
• Collect copies of ID for all visitors, assign them a badge, record all the required information in the visitor log and have them sign in/out (all visitors must be escorted by a licensed employee at all times)
• Monitor customer flow into and out of the store and consumption lounge
• Monitor the entryway, sales floor and/or consumption lounge and report any suspicious activity
• Present during store opening and closing
• Assist with any customer or employee de-escalation scenarios
• Ability to recognize when customers or employees show signs of impairment while present within the store and/or consumption lounge
• Handle traffic flow outside of the store, assist customers with parking and maneuvering within the parking lot, if necessary
• Escort customers from the store and/or consumption lounge when necessary
• Present during all product deliveries
• Present during any health or general wellbeing emergencies within the store and/or consumption lounge
• Being alert at assigned post at all times to ensure personnel safety
• Keep a detailed log of activities and complete a written report when needed
• Monitoring CCTV system
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years post-secondary education in a related field preferred

Work Experience Required

• 2+ years’ experience in a fast-paced client-service intensive industry – hospitality and retail backgrounds preferred

Required Knowledge

• Computer & equipment operations necessary for running an office/retail center (POS systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers/telephone systems)
• Thorough understanding of Tribal law governing cannabis and cannabis products

Physical Requirements

• Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for the distance of 100 feet
• This position requires occasional extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate objects
• Reliable transportation
