Seafood Import Monitoring Program Data Analyst - OIATC
Job description
Lynker is currently seeking a Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP) Auditor to support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Office of International Affairs, Trade, and Commerce (OATC). The SIMP Data Analyst will perform SIMP audits and activities to coordinate the SIMP audit process and Chain of Custody traceability review.
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Randomly selecting entries for audit
- Sending audit selection form letters to importers
- Receiving, organizing, and evaluating information in response to audit notices
- Follow-up communication with importers
- Identifying and communicating problems and efficiency issues related to the auditing, data review
- Navigating, locating, and providing feedback on programmatic documentation in NMFS’ International Trade Data System (ITDS) interface.
- Assisting with document preparations.
- Bachelor’s Degree (educational qualifications may be substituted for 4 years of relevant experience).
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance, which requires passing a thorough background check.
- 1-3 years of experience performing audits or similar inspections for compliance, reviewing documents, or data analysis and management.
- Experience reviewing and entering data into electronic platforms.
- Experience using Microsoft and Google software stacks (e.g. Excel, Access, Gmail, Google Drive).
- Experience reviewing and entering complex data from hardcopy documents accurately into electronic databases.
- Chain of Custody and general traceability review and analysis.
- Process oriented and attentive to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Great communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
