Our client is looking for a knowledgeable food safety and nutrition-focused Preschool Cook to manage the daily snack and lunch requirements of either their Gurnee or Grayslake schools.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cooking prepared foods and meals to temperature.
• Serving the appropriate amount of food to each classroom per State regulations.
• Adherence to children’s dietary preferences and food allergies.
• Maintain kitchen, including surfaces, equipment and cooking tools, to ensure a safe and sanitary food preparation environment.
• Cleaning up after food service, including washing and sanitizing dishes, sweeping/mopping floors, and putting away kitchen items in their proper place.
• Preparing daily snacks.
• Willingness to pick up and/or shop for food if delivery is not available (mileage will be reimbursed).
• Maintain daily food service reports.

Qualifications:

• Valid ServSafe Certification required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least 6 months of food handler experience in a preschool, childcare, or school setting preferred.
• Meet background check eligibility.
• Must meet all state-specific requirements for the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
