Kenton County School District is looking to add employees to join our Transportation Team as a School Bus Drivers! Our ideal applicant will be dedicated to providing safe and efficient transportation to our students so they may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular programs.

What will you be doing as a Bus Driver?
As a Bus Driver employee you will have the following performance responsibilities:

• Obeys all traffic laws
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
• Maintains discipline when students are on bus
• Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority
• Keeps assigned bus clean
• Keeps to assigned schedule
• Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects
• Fuels bus
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
• Discharges students only at authorized stops
• Exercises responsible leadership when out-of-district school trips
• Transports only authorized students
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports
• Enforces regulations specified in Bus Drivers Manual as approved by the Board of Education
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Compensation:
Kenton County School District offers competitive compensation, starting pay is $18.38 per hour with no experience. Kenton County School District offers training opportunities to those that do not hold a CDL license.

Qualifications

• Valid operator's license
• Must pass health examination required by all school employees
• Positive character references
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certification or demonstrated progress towards obtaining as required by Kentucky law
