- Masters in social work, family therapy, or counseling psychology with an emphasis on clinical practice
- MN state license (LPCC, LMFT, LICSW) or clinical trainee working towards licensure
- Extensive knowledge and experience in working with severe emotional disorders in children and adults, family systems theory, individual and family development and community resources and school systems.
- Considerable ability to plan and implement treatment strategies for children with SED
- Experience with students and families of color, understanding of the impact of race and poverty upon students and families
- Experience with Electronic Health Records preferred
- Individual Sessions: 1 time per week, 35-45 minutes, up to 12 individual sessions - 6 hours total
- Group Sessions: 2 times per week, 30-45 minutes, groups of 6 students/group - 4 groups total - 3 hours
- Skills Sessions: Daily, 30 minutes/group, 10 groups total, 2.5 hours/group - 5 hours total
- Family Groups: Monthly
- Indirect Support: Classroom support, crisis management, consultation with general ed teachers, etc.

Required Qualifications:
The School Based Embedded Therapist will provide Therapy/Skills Groups within the following guidelines:
Responsibilities:
1. Enhance awareness of mental health needs, services; and to promote community understanding of mental health and to enhance community response to mental health problems.
2. Provide clinical assessments and interventions for students and families.
3. Provide individual, group and family therapy, based on need to identified K-5th grade students and their caregivers
4. Respond and provide guidance in crisis situation in school setting
5. Participate in meetings as necessary (staffing, trainings, IEPs, community forums, etc.).
6. Collaborate with teachers and paraprofessionals to provide consistent, trauma informed interventions for students in classroom
7. Maintain data on students served including progress notes and SDQ/CASII
8. Be familiar with disciplinary guidelines, and at risk student characteristics/ needs, collaborating agency referral guidelines.
9. Be familiar with special education regulatory requirements and assist with the process as appropriate.
10. Possess training in evidence based practices, trauma informed care and knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
11. Foster effective communication with students, parents, and other staff members.
