Position Overview

Perform satelllite command and control of Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) at 10th Space Operations Squadron (10 SOPS) Satellite Operations Center (SOC), Detachment Delta, Schriever Space Force Base, CO. The SOC at Detachment Delta is staffed sixteen (16) hours a day 0730-2400, five (5) days a week. During eclipse season, special operations and continuity of operations (COOP), Detachment Delta schedule may be extended up to 24/7 to accommodate operational requirements. Det Delta Satellite Operators (SOs) may be recalled during non-working hours to support urgent operational requirements or ground system configuration.

Primary Responsibilities

The Satellite Operator (SO) is responsible for configuring ground equipment, if required, before satellite contacts, responding to ground system alarms, performing first-level troubleshooting during ground system anomalies, ground system resource assignment, mission planning and real time scheduling. The SO also documents operational events during the shift and informs the Satellite Operations Watch Captain (SWC) of any alarms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Satellite Operator experience

• Command and Control of a Satellite Constellation

• Mission Planning and Scheduling

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-10 years experience performing military satellite opertions

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree or related work experience

Clearance Requirement

Secret clearance
