Summary:

The Sanitation Manager oversees the execution of corporate policies, procedures and training elements in three key areas that include food safety, plant sanitation and occupational health and safety. This role is responsible for motivating personnel while administrating the master sanitation schedule and assigning the appropriate resources to effectively execute tasks. Additional requirements include leading/participating in plant and corporate projects and/or programs that consist of sanitation requirements or functions, being accountable for ensuring new or current practices and processes are compliant to external regulations and internal policies, as well as effectively work with operations to ensure that key food safety, sanitation and safety goals are achieved.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Develop and execute master sanitation schedule, planning appropriate resources and coordinating with affected departments.
  • Drives sanitation practices and administers programs to produce safe products which meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Create and validate cleaning standards, including procedures, checklists, and visual aids.
  • Train and coach associates to safely perform cleaning procedures.
  • Schedules labor and approves payroll of the Sanitation team.
  • Participate in project teams for new equipment and infrastructure, working with Safety, Quality, Operations and Engineering teams to ensure compliance to hygienic design requirements.
  • Assist in the planning, supervising, and administration of sanitation programs, policies and practices designed to ensure plant cleanliness and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct effective, risk-based sanitation audits to identify gaps and improvement opportunities to ensure food safety and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company policies / procedures and customer expectations.
  • Monitor, verify and validate equipment cleaning methods including recommendations to meet plant sanitation.
  • Oversee plant sanitation and environmental pathogen control.
  • Address sanitation requirements using Master Cleaning Schedules (MCS) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). Conduct necessary training to address sanitation / hygiene / GMP compliance.
  • Oversee and direct activities related to pest control including monitoring, record keeping, exclusion practices and treatment programs.
  • Ensure compliance of quality programs including GMP & SSOP.
  • Evaluate and assist in development of SSOPs.
  • Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement of SSOPs.
  • Development of company training program as it pertains to the sanitation of the facility.
  • Create and maintain Master Cleaning Schedule of facility, equipment and grounds.
  • Perform pre-ops with members of the QA/QC team.
  • Create and maintain pre-op check sheets for all areas of facility that include trending of issues found.
  • Support floor sanitation team members including scheduling of team members.
  • Develop and maintain chemical inventories and supplies with the Supply Chain.
  • Additional duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in food plant operations, food safety, sanitation and or pest control. Minimum three years supervisory / auditing / regulatory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications in Food Safety, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) strongly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
