Job Summary

This position is responsible for the development and successful implementation of Salesforce solutions across multiple business channels. This role will work closely with high functioning business teams including sales, marketing, customer delivery, flight operations and customer service to understand their business and develop Salesforce solutions. The Salesforce Senior Developer works closely with other developers, business analysts, project managers, and business partners to develop or customize the Salesforce environment in support of Cirrus Aircraft and the Cirrus Aircraft owner and pilot community. This role requires the ability to work with evolving requirements, business demands, and within the context of an established architecture and design schema. In addition to identifying, developing and delivering technically sound solutions that drive business value, the Salesforce Sr. Developer is responsible for Cirrus’ 200+ user Salesforce environment. Responsibilities include coordination with outside vendors, user account/profile permission management, development of complex Workflows / Process Builders, Custom Fields, Validation Rules, Page Layouts and produces design/configuration of Custom Objects and APEX coding (classes, triggers, etc). This role reports to IT Business Partner for the Customer Experience Team business unit.


Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

The successful individual will have strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, processes, products, integrations, best practices; be able to build and maintain relationships with business partners; and have critical design thinking skills used to deliver technically sound solutions. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Responsible for the Salesforce eco-system including the administration, maintenance and development required to meet business needs
  • Applies problem solving, software programming skills, and Salesforce.com expertise to configure and develop Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud functionality
  • Designs, builds and manages Salesforce data feeds and software integrations with other systems or third-party vendors
  • Accountable for deliverables throughout the full project life cycle phases (SDLC) from requirements documentation to development to solution release
  • Collaborates with the Data Scientists and Data Stewards to ensure data architecture alignment and accurate maintenance of data
  • Follows best practices throughout the software development cycle during solution development
  • Maintains insight to current industry best practices and emerging Salesforce.com functionality, and how they can be applied to solve business problems
  • Participate in or conduct end user training, including development of user guides and reference materials to drive user adoption

  • 7 to 10 years progressive technical and development experience including Salesforce administration, maintenance and solution development
  • Experience creating complex software solutions to solve business needs including the development of Salesforce classes, triggers, change sets and deployment scripts
  • Experience with Apex, Python, and JavaScript programming languages and relational data base management
  • Experience developing Salesforce integrations using API and other integration tools
  • Knowledge of Web Frameworks, Web Services, REST, XML and messaging protocols
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating effective communication across a variety of settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels

Education and/or Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or business administration combined with equivalent technical experience
  • Must have 7 years of Salesforce development experience
  • Salesforce Certified SFDC Developer (401) certification required
  • Salesforce Certified SFDC Advanced Developer (501) certification preferred
  • Experience with process solution design and implementations that support value driven initiatives
  • Experience with driving user adoption following Salesforce best practices
  • Experience working with agile methodology and teams
  • Experiences working with sales, marketing, and service business operations

Demonstrated Proficiencies/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively research, problem solving, analytical, and critical design thinking skills
  • Ability to effectively influence, build relationships with key stakeholders, & deliver presentation materials across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to collaboratively create appropriate project plans as part of implementing business process changes
  • Skilled in the capabilities, constraints and best practices of the Salesforce system (Sales Cloud, Service Could, Marketing Cloud) with the ability to build custom apps and objects, complex workflows, and custom views
  • Ability to manage multiple sandbox environments and appropriate testing data sets
  • Proficient at managing and supporting Salesforce system upgrades
  • Proficient with Salesforce as an IDP, Community Portals, and the Heroku platform
